I purchased two automatic cat feeders from Superpet in February. They were first used in April and have had very few uses since then. In early May, during a day out, we returned to find that one of the feeders was no longer rotating the food - just 3 months after purchase and hardly used. I contacted Superpet for assistance and was met with a complete lack of empathy and no apology (the basics of customer service). They dismissed my issue, telling me, "you'll need to contact the manufacturer I'm afraid," completely washing their hands of any accountability while happily keeping the money I paid.
The interaction quickly devolved into a patronising argument over UK law, with Superpet insisting it wasn't their problem (My legal rights as a consumer are with the retailer, and they are Statute based. The warranty is a contractual document. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if the product is faulty (which it is), it is their legal obligation to deal with it).
After several frustrating emails, I requested their complaints procedure and where to send a formal letter. I received a very curt reply to email the same address or send it to their business address listed. Despite doing so, I have had no response as expected.
Additionally, none of their communications included a name, further obscuring their accountability. This experience has highlighted their customer service is severely lacking and I will not be using them ever again.
Avoid Superpet if you expect even the bare minimum levels of customer service.
